All UEFA Champions League Match Information Including Stats, Goals, Results, and History
Paris - Real Madrid became European champion for a record-extending 14th time after beating Liverpool 1-0 in a Champions League final.
The only goal of the game came in the 59th minute when Vinícius Júnior latched onto a through ball from Federico Valverde and slotted it past Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson.
The victory gives Real Madrid their fifth Champions League title in the past nine years and their second under manager Carlo Ancelotti.
Liverpool were the better team for much of the game, but they were unable to find a way past Real Madrid's resolute defense, in particular Thibaut Courtois in goal.
The defeat is a major disappointment for Liverpool, who were looking to win their seventh Champions League title.
